Therapies Utilized at LaRocca Chiropractic
Dr. LaRocca utilizes a wide variety of hands on manipulation techniques as well as chiropractic adjusting instruments.
Class IV cold laser therapy from Apollo lasers:
Cold laser therapy is a treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light that interact at the cellular level and help to accelerate the healing process. It can be used for a variety of acute and chronic conditions to help eliminate pain, swelling, reduce spasms and increase functionality.
Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy:
Shock wave therapy is a unique sound wave frequency that treats chronic injuries such as plantar fasciitis, frozen shoulder and carpal tunnel syndrome to name a few conditions treated. Shock wave therapy is utilized for areas of the body that have stopped the normal healing process due to repetitive trauma.
The principle behind this therapy is to cause a micro trauma to the surrounding to tissue that will enable increased blood supply, increased collagen production and dissolution of calcium buildup. Stimulation of this biological mechanism creates and optimal healing environment that will diminish pain and increase functionality.
Non-surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy:
Non-surgical spinal decompression therapy is a modality that is used for people who suffer from disk herniations that cause debilitating radicular pain down their arms and or legs.
The main objective of decompression therapy is to cause a negative vacuum pressure within the disc allowing for the inner gel “nucleus pulposus” to retract. This retraction will allow for the disc to take pressure off the nerves and or spinal cord thus eliminating pain.
